The Canton of Geneva chooses DeepSign
26 September 2025
The Swiss people’s approval of the e-ID paves the way for faster and more secure digital identification, thereby further improving the digital signing process, especially for the qualified electronic signature. DeepID will integrate the new state-issued digital identity to make identity verification and digital signature even smoother
Yesterday, the Swiss people voted in favour of the introduction of the Swiss e-ID. This marks an important step forward for secure, digital services in our country. At DeepCloud, we are eager to integrate the e-ID into our services, making the process of verifying identities even faster, more secure, and more convenient.
What changes with the e-ID
Let’s look at the example of identity verification for a qualified electronic signature. Up to now, identification has required scanning and verifying an official document such as a passport or identity card. While this process has already been smooth with DeepID, the Swiss e-ID will make it even simpler.
With an e-ID, the user’s identity can be confirmed digitally and directly, without the need for scanning their physical identity documents. This means:
Choice remains
Not everyone will have an e-ID from day one or maybe even at all. That is why DeepID will continue to support the proven process of verifying physical IDs or passports. Users can choose the method that suits them best, and both will remain secure, compliant, and easy to use.
Looking ahead
The Swiss vote has created the foundation for a trusted, nationwide digital identity. We are working to integrate e-ID in the DeepID verification process, so that users and partners can benefit from a smoother process once the e-ID is established. This will also reduce the hurdles for digital signatures, making the use of DeepSign even easier and more user friendly.
Switzerland has taken an important step into the future of digital trust — and our digital Services like DeepID or DeepSign are ready to make that future a reality.
