Since 1961, Pagani Pens has been a global leader in innovative writing technology, combining award-winning design, Swiss-made quality, and precision with a commitment to sustainability in both its processes and products. While its core business is manufacturing complete systems for analogue writing instruments (ballpoint pens, pen tips and inks) through its flagship brands Prodir and Premec, Pagani Pens has embraced digitalisation both in its operations and consumer product features to enhance experience and improve efficiency.

Although the company’s manufacturing and administrative offices are located entirely in Southern Switzerland, Pagani Pens has sales offices and affiliates throughout the world, meaning company leadership is constantly on the go. As a result, Pagani Pens faced challenges in managing its signature processes, which heavily relied on paper-based signing and the physical post.

Company executives and employees required a dependable solution that allowed them to handle document signing seamlessly while travelling or working away from the office. The primary need was for a mobile-friendly, time-efficient tool that worked flawlessly at both the Swiss and European levels, reducing operational bottlenecks and paper dependency.

To address its challenges, Pagani Pens integrated DeepSign and DeepID, DeepCloud’s advanced solutions for digital signatures and identity verification. These tools stood out for their ability to provide seamless mobile access, adhering to both Swiss and EU standards for electronic signature compliance.

DeepSign ensures a fast, secure digital signing experience, enabling Pagani Pens’ directors to sign documents on the go, directly from their smartphones with the DeepSign app. Available for iOS and Android, the DeepSign app also features integrated first-party digital identification – DeepID – allowing signatories to easily verify their identity using a quick and secure digital process. This means that even the highest regulatory standards are met without compromising user convenience.

Although the pilot project is ongoing, early results from its headquarters have been overwhelmingly positive. Initial estimates indicate that DeepSign has reduced the average time for closing agreements from 3-4 days to a few minutes (a more than 99% reduction), enabling faster decision-making and smoother workflows. Additionally, the elimination of physical signing and posting of documents for routine signatures is already contributing to Pagani Pens’ sustainability initiatives, reducing paper use and postal emissions. The leadership team now also benefits from enhanced mobility with the ability to approve documents from anywhere and better support their global operations.

Based on these results, Pagani Pens is planning to move forward from the pilot project, rolling out DeepSign to their sales offices and affiliates across the globe.
